New food larders in Glasgow

28th June 2024

We’ve worked with the charity Good Food Scotland to open an affordable food larder in two community centres in Toryglen, Glasgow.

Both offer high-quality, essential goods, from fresh fruit and veg to household and personal care items.

For just £1 a month each hub offers members the chance to buy things for much less money than you’d spend in most shops.

Every penny raised from the items sold is used to top up the stock.

The Cornerstone larder at 24 Glenmore Avenue runs every Wednesday from 9am to 11am, and every Thursday from 10am to 1pm.

The Community Base larder at 179 Prospecthill Circus is open from 3pm to 6pm every Wednesday.

Toryglen resident Tracy Rarity, who runs the Cornerstone larder, said: “The discounted prices are making a real difference to the cost of people’s weekly shop.

“We’re proud to have created a friendly space where people can relax and catch up over a cuppa. Everyone’s welcome, no matter their circumstances.”
