16th January 2026

Sanctuary Scotland

An older individual wearing glasses and a checkered shirt is seated indoors, with one hand slightly raised in a gesture as if speaking to someone out of frame. The person also wears a wristwatch on the left wrist. In the background, another individual is visible but blurred, appearing to listen to the conversation.

The Scottish Housing Regulator has shared a factsheet for tenants on how to raise a serious concern about their landlord.

The update includes clear guidance on:

  • How tenants can report serious concerns directly to the Regulator

  • What happens after a report is made and how the Regulator deals with it

You can view the new tenant factsheet or visit the Scottish Housing Regulator website for more information.
