Sanctuary Scotland
Rents for Sanctuary Scotland’s social rent homes will increase by 4.8% from July, following confirmation from our Board of Management.
The increase is based on last November’s Retail Price Index of 3.8%, plus an additional 1%. This approach helps us balance keeping rents as affordable as possible with continuing to invest in our homes and services.
Each year, we consult with our general needs customers before setting rents. As part of this year’s consultation, 229 residents shared their views on the proposed increase. Their feedback helped us understand the impact a rent change can have and what matters most to customers.
The increase will help us:
- improve our repairs service
- reinvest in existing homes
- provide more local support for customers across Scotland
If you receive Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, your payment will automatically update to reflect the new rent. If you’re worried about managing your rent, our teams can also offer welfare advice and help you check what financial support may be available.
For customers living in our Mid‑Market Rent (MMR) homes, rents will increase by 5.8%, with the new rent levels taking effect from 1 August 2026.
