Sanctuary Scotland
Sanctuary has published its 2023/2024 Sustainability Report. It demonstrates our ambition to make a positive difference in our communities, and ultimately a positive impact for our customers.
This year’s report builds on our detailed Sustainability Reports from the past two years and benchmarks our performance to demonstrate progress to date.
This update illustrates Sanctuary’s work through the same three aspects of sustainability as previous years: environment, social, and governance.
Our strategic approach to sustainability prioritises three areas where we have the greatest potential to contribute:
- Understanding and limiting our environmental impact, making tangible steps on our journey to net zero by 2050;
- Providing high-quality homes and services that support our customers to lead healthy and fulfilling lives; and
- Always acting as a responsible organisation that is here for the long-term, recognising the positive role we can make to the lives of our employees, as well as our customers.
Donna Williams, Sanctuary’s Group Director of Sustainability and Climate Change, said: “In the past year we have once again achieved significant progress on decarbonisation and energy efficiency, improving our approach to data and strengthening our partnerships.
“Since the launch of our first Environmental Strategy four years ago, our operational carbon emissions are down 38%, we have retrofitted nearly 2,700 homes to a minimum EPC band C, and we have assessed the full scope of our carbon footprint. This progress is vital to us reaching our long-term goals and we continue to drive positive change within our communities.”
Sanctuary is an organisation that seeks to make a positive difference in society and ultimately that means a positive impact for our customers. You can visit our sustainability hub here to keep up to date with all our sustainability updates.
