Steve Loomes

A Chartered Town Planner, Steve is retired from the housebuilding industry where he led multi – disciplinary teams from Board positions, with a focus on land acquisition, place making and planning disciplines. A strategic leader with proven risk and financial management capabilities he successfully managed the delivery of numerous innovative, multi-million pound projects and met strategic growth objectives across several volume scale businesses.

As Chair of the Planning Committee at Homes for Scotland, Steve was actively involved in engagement with the Scottish Government through various legislative and policy change programmes.

The first part of his career was primarily in local government where Steve progressed to management level responsibility for statutory planning services’ delivery.

From his business experience Steve has a strong interest in the social housing sector as a key enabler to address the housing crisis, while delivering sustainable places and services to households in need.
