We have a number of garages available for you to rent in Peterhead, Dundee, Cumbernauld and Toryglen, Glasgow. Applicants can be Sanctuary residents or non-residents and must be over the age of 18.
How to Apply for a Garage
You'll need to complete an application form PDF 180KB (opens in new tab) which we will review before adding you to our waiting list.
We give priority on our waiting list in the following order:
- Residents wishing to rent their first garage
- Non-residents wishing to rent their first garage
- Residents wishing to change garages at the same site
- Residents wishing to change garages to another site
- Applying for a second garage
If we approve your application and a garage is available, we will share further details on what you need to do next.

Proof of identity
If you are not a Sanctuary resident, you will need to provide photocopies of the following documents along with your garage application:
- Proof of your National Insurance number
- Proof of identity: This must be a valid photo ID, such as a driving licence or passport
- Proof of your current address: This must be dated within the last 3 months and can include documents such as your tenancy agreement, a utility bill (gas, electric, water), home telephone bill or bank statement
Completed application forms and document copies should be returned to your local Scotland office.
What happens when you are offered a garage
If your application is successful, you will need to sign a garage lease agreement and pay the rent in advance on the day. We will discuss setting up a Direct Debit for your future rental payments.
