Our Board of Management will meet on Tuesday 17 February 2026 to decide how much your rent will increase in 2026/2027.
We want to make sure that the rent you pay is affordable for you and every other Sanctuary Scotland tenant, while still providing us with enough money to provide a high-quality service.
To strike a balance between what we believe is affordable, and our financial needs as a landlord, we are proposing to put our 2026/2027 rents up by 4.8 percent, the equivalent of the Retail Price Index (the rate at which the price of goods and services rises) figure for November 2025 of 3.8 percent, plus 1 percent.
This increase would allow us to cover the increased costs of the homes and services we provide. This means we can continue to maintain and improve our homes, while adding social value to our communities.
The table below shows how our proposed percentage rise would impact different monthly rents.
| Current rent | Proposed rent from 1st July 2026 |
|---|---|
£400 | £419.20 |
£450 | £471.60 |
£500 | £524 |
£550 | £576.40 |
Our rent increase will take effect from July 2026. We will send you written notice of this change at least four weeks before your rent level changes.
How your rent was spent in 2024/2025
The rent we receive is used to deliver our core services, such as repairs, letting properties for people in housing need, and reinvesting in our homes.

Adding value to our communities
During 2025/2026 we:
- Delivered the third and final year of the United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund in Priesthill, Glasgow. This gave more than 10 community projects cash to educate residents on trauma and its links to poverty. We worked with the local Silverburn shopping centre to enable over 150 community members to access formal and informal training.
- Invested £4,000 in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Care Community Clothing Bank and Carbrain Community Events.
- Created a Scottish Government-funded Housing and Community Connector (HCC) post in Dundee to help at-risk residents keep their home. Our HCC in Aberdeen has worked with more than 50 customers across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, enabling them to maintain their tenancies.
- Continued our support of community projects in Toryglen, Glasgow including Ronin Karate, the Blether Cafe and the Toryglen Community Shop.
