Making our North West homes more sustainable
Over 700 of our homes in the North West are becoming more energy efficient thanks to the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).
Part of Sanctuary’s share of the funding awarded to the Greener Futures Partnership consortium, a collaboration between us and four like-minded housing associations (Abri, Anchor, Home Group and Hyde Group), covers much of the cost of these improvements. Works are also taking place in Essex and Sheffield.
We’re working with NetZero Collective, Bell Group and Correct Contract Services in the North West to carry out retrofit surveys, assessments, and installations of energy efficiency measures.
Overall, we have been allocated £12.5 million in grant funding under Wave 2.1 of the SHDF to improve more than 2,000 of our homes across England to EPC Band C.
Sustainability is one of Sanctuary’s core values. We’ll continue to work as one team to support our social purpose and put our customers at the heart of our services.
Rebecca Craig, our Director of Sustainability and Climate Change, said: “The work we are doing as part of our grant award under the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund is vital to our wider retrofit programme and our goal of making every Sanctuary home energy efficient. We are delighted to be starting work in the North West, improving our homes for our customers.”
