We’ve published our 2022/2023 Sustainability Report, demonstrating our ambition to make a difference in society and a positive impact for our customers.
This year’s report builds on our first Sustainability Report from 2021/2022 and includes comparison figures from that report to demonstrate our progress.
It highlights our work across the three aspects of sustainability – environment, social, and governance. This year, we’ve also added lots of new information.
Our strategic approach to sustainability prioritises three areas where we have the greatest potential to contribute:
- Understanding and limiting our environmental impact, making tangible steps on our journey to net zero by 2050
- Providing high-quality homes and services that support our customers to lead healthy and fulfilling lives; and
- Always acting as a responsible organisation that is here for the long-term, recognising the positive role we can make in the lives of our employees, as well as our customers.
Since we began our sustainability journey, we have achieved significant progress on decarbonisation and energy efficiency. We have also focused on advancing the quality and quantity of the data we collect on our carbon emissions and have strengthened our partnerships in our communities.
We have seen a significant decrease in our operational carbon footprint against our baseline and have also fully calculated our extended carbon footprint, enabling us to chart a path towards achieving net zero by 2050.
Sustainability is one of our core values here at Sanctuary – our culture involves working together as one team to support our social purpose and putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.
As part of this approach, we’re proud today to launch a new Sustainability Hub where we’ll be sharing all things sustainability – from our approach, to our key targets, to the projects we’re working on.
You can visit our new hub here for all the latest sustainability updates.
